DuPage Juvenile Officers' Association

2024 Scholarship Application

2025 Applications will be available by March 1, 2025

Qualifications: 

 

- Applicants must residents of DuPage County

- Applicants must be enrolled at a college or university by September 2024

- Applicants must be majoring in a field related to law enforcement or youth social

  services.  Education majors are not eligible.

Documents to be submitted with application:

  1. Letter of recommendation (only one) from a counselor, teacher, school resource officer, juvenile youth officer or youth worker.

  2. Personal letter setting forth your reason for applying, why you wish to pursue a career working with juveniles and your plans for the future.

  3. A transcript of your grades

  4. A letter of acceptance from your college or university or verification of admissibility.

2024 Scholarship Winners

Danielle (Dani) Bulthuis

Dani is a Glen Ellyn resident who attended Glenbard South High School.  She has been employed since 2018 and has participated in sports and various other extra-curricular activities.  Dani also has achieved several academic honors.  Dani plans to attend the University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign in the fall to study Psychology.  She aims to become an Applied Behavior Analyst and work directly with juveniles, specifically those who are on the Autism spectrum.  The DJOA Board wishes Dani the best in her future endeavors working with juveniles.

Lorenza Foster-Simbulan

Lorenza is a Glen Ellyn resident who attended Glenbard South High School.  She has been employed since 2020 and has participated in sports and numerous other extra-curricular activities.  Lorenza also has achieved several academic honors.  Lorenza plans to attend the Dominican University of California in the fall to study Psychology/Spanish.  She aims to to become a Clinical Psychologist to help juveniles who have hidden their genuine selves.  The DJOA Board wishes Lorenza the best in her future endeavors working with juveniles.
