TOPIC: Criminal Investigations Involving Schools

With the start of the 2025-2026 school year, this seminar will focus on two areas related to criminal investigations involving schools: School threats and Sexual conduct investigations involving school personnel.
Assistant State’s Attorney Jim Scalatine will be discussing the aspects pertaining an investigation (and successful prosecution) of those who threaten the safety of schools.
Cathy Hundley, the Director of the DuPage Children’s Advocacy Center, will review Illinois state law and CAC policies related to investigations of sexual conduct involving school personnel. This overview will also cover what roles/actions school administrators must take in these investigations.
